Insurance Financial Modelling – Senior Analyst

Remote - Poland

We are seeking a highly-motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Financial Modelling Senior Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Finance & Accounting and be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining financial models to support our strategic decision-making.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, risk assessment, and capital management.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new products, pricing strategies, and business initiatives.
  • Model and assess capital adequacy to ensure the company meets regulatory requirements and maintains a strong financial position.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the company’s ability to withstand adverse financial conditions.
  • Collaborate with our actuarial and underwriting teams to analyze the financial impact of our insurance portfolios, assess profitability, claims patterns, and risk exposures, and provide actionable insights for the CFO.
  • Assist in regulatory and compliance reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Must haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial modelling within the insurance industry or in supporting insurers with tasks such as forecasting, risk assessment, and capital adequacy modelling.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to take independent, accountability for logically thinking through what you need to model, how you will do it and quality assure the outputs. You will be able to harness complex data sets as required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization
  • Knowledge of actuarial principles and insurance industry GAAP, and STAT accounting practices.
  • Experience with capital adequacy modelling and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to haves

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Attested familiarity with the accounting and regulatory frameworks that apply to insurers.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and advanced tools for efficient data analysis.
